Five-year-old-breezy Sprinter, a Newgrange seasoned challenger with multiple graded-stakes victories, was officially included in the final list of Grade 1, $3 Million Pegasus World Cup Invitational to be held on January 25, 2025, at Gulfstream Park, responding to his owners No Dale Racing LLC and Jeff T. Larson. The ownership of Newgrange, who is a five-time graded-stakes winner, is a significant contribution to the respected roster of 4-year-olds and older horses currently planning to run in the 1 1/8-mile race horse competition.

The World Cup features top races, including the $1M Pegasus Turf (G1) and $500K Filly & Mare Turf Invitational. This Super Bowl embraces these horse races or catches some excitement and adventure from watching them struggle. Be prepared to shout so loud as it will be a fantastic time!

Pegasus World Cup Invitational has been quite impressive, thanks to his consistent and noteworthy showings in various races. This horse, sired by Violence, has really proven himself with a solid record: 15 starts, 7 glorious wins, no second-place finishes, and a respectable 4 times coming in third. And let’s not forget, he’s earned over a cool million bucks! Some of the highlights of his career are when he won the 2023 San Antonio and the 2024 San Pasqual.

Newgrange, the horse, took a little breather after coming in fifth in the 1 1/16-mile San Diego Handicap (G2) at Del Mar last July. Now, he’s all geared up to hit the tracks again. Since that race, he’s been putting in some serious training hours down in South Florida under the guidance of his new coach, Jose D’Angelo. Jose stepped in after Newgrange’s old trainer, Phil D’Amato when the horse decided that a change of scenery might do him some good and headed east for a fresh start.

On January 8, 2025, Newgrange delivered his initial workout in Florida. He finished the four furlongs in 47 seconds at Palm Meadows, Gulfstream Park’s training facility in Palm Beach County without a single problem. This was the fastest out of 36 horses covering the same distance that morning, thus the horse is expected to participate in the race in very good form. The good news has made his people more sure of his Pegasus World Cup Invitational quotas.

The first of thirteen starter races at the Pegasus World Cup Invitational race will kick off at 11 a.m. EST on January 25. Then the Pegasus World Cup Invitational follows that later in the day. Lo and behold, the opportunity day of Gulfstream Park West will always let us. You always choose the best moment to evaluate the offerings and make your bet. So, the early Pick 5 had a carryover of $1.25 million and the late Pick 5 had a guaranteed $2.5 million carryover from races 9-13 along with a late Pick 4 which will also be forced by a $1.5 million carryover from races 10-13. Of course, Sunday, January 26, will be the day when the mandatory Rainbow 6 will be paid out at a minimum of $2.75 million, the attraction being that it is a draw card that the punters are crazy about.

Newgrange’s place in the Pegasus World Cup Invitational is given to him in place of Skinner who has won the 1 1/8-mile Native Diver at Del Mar. The team sent Skinner to run at Fair Grounds leading to his withdrawal from the field on January 20, 2025. This was the chance for Newgrange to become a part of the 12-horse field which will involve the best contenders among others like Crupi, Imagination, Locked, Mixto, Mystik Dan, Power Squeeze, Saudi Crown, Señor Buscador, Skippylongstocking, Stronghold, and White Abarrio.

The decision to target the Pegasus World Cup Invitational is a significant one for Newgrange and his team. Trainer Jose D’Angelo has shown confidence in the horse’s ability to return to top form after the break, and the recent workout in Florida has been encouraging. With a stellar list of competitors in horse competition, the race will provide a true test for Newgrange as he faces some of the best horses in the country.

It offers an opportunity to secure another major victory and further enhance his already impressive resume. The pressure will be on as he makes his return to horse competition, but with his proven ability and strong connections, Newgrange is certainly a horse competition to watch in the upcoming race.

The 2025 World Cup is set to bring to life the thrill that every racing fan is looking forward to. It is not certain if the colt can perform the feat demanded for the race due to the fact that the proof for the same is at this point lacking. However, his connections perceive the horse as capable and probably being a winner in the race.
