Newgrange Secures Spot in Pegasus World Cup Invitational

Five-year-old-breezy Sprinter, a Newgrange seasoned challenger with multiple graded-stakes victories, was officially included in the final list of Grade 1, $3 Million Pegasus World Cup Invitational to be held on January 25, 2025, at Gulfstream Park, responding to his owners No Dale Racing LLC and Jeff T. Larson. The ownership of Newgrange, who is a five-time graded-stakes winner, is a significant contribution to the respected roster of 4-year-olds and older horses currently planning to run in the 1 1/8-mile race horse competition.

Pegasus World Cup Invitational has been quite impressive, thanks to his consistent and noteworthy showings in various races. This horse, sired by Violence, has really proven himself with a solid record: 15 starts, 7 glorious wins, no second-place finishes, and a respectable 4 times coming in third. And let’s not forget, he’s earned over a cool million bucks! Some of the highlights of his career are when he won the 2023 San Antonio and the 2024 San Pasqual.

Newgrange, the horse, took a little breather after coming in fifth in the 1 1/16-mile San Diego Handicap (G2) at Del Mar last July. Now, he’s all geared up to hit the tracks again. He finished the four furlongs in 47 seconds at Palm Meadows, Gulfstream Park’s training facility in Palm Beach County without a single problem. This was the fastest out of 36 horses covering the same distance that morning, thus the horse is expected to participate in the race in very good form.
