Sheikh Rashid Bin Humaid Al Nuaimi’s RRR Racing made headlines at the Keeneland November Horses of Racing Age Sale in Lexington by securing a World Record for $900,000. The four-year-old colt, presented by ELiTE Sales as agent, drew widespread attention as bidding intensified toward the end of the single-session auction.
World Record, a son of Gun Runner out of Marwa (GB) by Exceed and Excel (AUS), was bred by Runnymede Farm LLC, Falguieres Bloodstock, Gestut Zur Kuste AG, and partners. By the way, it was bought as a weanling for $410,000 at the 2021 Keeneland November Sale and has since gone on to make a substantial World Record on the track. The chestnut is under the care of Rodolphe Brisset, and the ownership syndicate is WinStar Farm and BBN Racing. After an impressive debut in his second 3-year-old start, he was upgraded to a “TDN Rising Star” status.”
The acquisition by RRR Racing marks a continuation of Sheikh Rashid’s growing interest in high-caliber American racehorses. Ed Prosser, who signed the ticket on behalf of RRR Racing, shared insight into the decision: “There was significant interest in this horse from the Middle East. Bhupat Seemar, who will train him in Dubai, asked me to handle the bidding. He had already reviewed the catalog and had identified this colt as one of his targets. He is always keeping an eye on American horses with the right profile for Dubai racing.”
Prosser added that connections from across the Gulf region had expressed enthusiasm for the World Record, drawn by his pedigree, race world record, and proven consistency. “There were several buyers from Saudi Arabia and neighboring regions who had done their homework. They liked what they saw and believed this horse would adapt well to Dubai racing,” he said.
The success of RRR Racing has been building steadily in recent years. The stable has made a strong impact internationally, especially in Dubai, where its runners have earned major victories. Among RRR Racing’s top performers are Isolate (Mark Valeski), winner of the Group 2 Godolphin Mile; Clapton (Brethren), the 2023 Grade III Lukas Classic Stakes victor and Group 1-placed in Dubai; Rayya (Tiz Wonderful), winner of the Group 3 UAE Oaks; and Mufasa (Chi) (Practical Joke), who captured two Grade III races in the United States in late 2024 before being acquired by RRR.
The purchase of World Record fits the stable’s strategy of sourcing proven runners from the U.S. circuit to compete in Dubai’s lucrative sprint and mile divisions. Gun Runner progeny, known for their speed, soundness, and adaptability, have proven effective in both American and international racing, making the colt a natural target for RRR’s expanding portfolio.
Once more the Keeneland November Racing Age Horses Sale was a showcase of a vibrant market for tough, proven winners of the racetrack. Buyers from the Middle East, Asia, and North America were energetic all the way through the session, with many six-figure deals being a strong indication of the market’s capacity. The sale is still functioning as a dependable launching pad for owners and trainers who want to procure do-it-yourself racehorses before the winter racing season.
The achievement of the sale for Keeneland underlines how attractive their Horses of Racing Age format remains, which is a way by which the people involved in racing can purchase and vend an active performer directly from the stable. Besides, the power of the market mirrored the expansion of the worldwide need for the horses bred in America and the rising number of foreign owners like RRR Racing, who consider U.S. sales as the best place to get horses that are the most suitable for racing in the Gulf region.
With a World Record set to join the Dubai string under trainer Bhupat Seemar, expectations are high that he will soon make his mark at Meydan Racecourse. Given his proven speed and ability to handle strong company, his addition signals RRR Racing’s intent to maintain a leading presence in upcoming Dubai World Cup Carnival events.
As the hammer fell at $900,000, the colt’s journey from a promising weanling to an international racing prospect came full circle. His next chapter will unfold on one of racing’s most prestigious stages, where his performance will be closely watched by both American and Middle Eastern racing fans alike.
